Whether you’re overwhelmed by work, anxious about the future, or just mentally exhausted, calming your mind can feel impossible. But it doesn’t have to be.

Here are 7 simple ways to instantly calm your mind


1. Breathe Slowly and Deeply

This is the first thing you should do when your brain is racing. Take a deep breath in through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, then slowly breathe out through your mouth. Do this a few times — no need to count or be perfect.

Deep breathing signals to your nervous system that you’re safe. It slows down your heart rate, clears some of the fog in your head, and helps you feel more grounded — all within a minute.
